home sweet home

There’s no place like home, right? Dorothy said it best, but it’s so true! I believe artwork can seriously transform a room or even change a mood! That’s why I had to share with you a recent piece I created for a good cause to make it’s way into a good home!

The rustic and natural style really speaks to me right now as my husband and I start building a life together in a new{ish} city. Downtown New Port Richey has such a cute, historic charm that beams from the quaint shops that line Main Street and the winding Cotee River. The home we are currently renting sits on Grand Boulevard and is one of the original homes in the area. The brilliant wood floors are from the 1930’s, which just adds to the precious character of this older home. When designing this custom piece, I was very inspired by the charm of New Port Richey and of our 1930’s house. The burnt wood finish of the board are like the floors in this home and the stark white lettering swoops like the large oak tree in the front yard. We’ve all heard the saying that “we are our own worst critic” - well, rest assured that when I create something, I create as if it were going into my own home. The perfectionist in me comes out in all of my work, which is why I love the detail involved in calligraphy.

I am over joyed that my small business could be involved in such a huge event that raises funds for The Sunshine Kids. If you’ve never heard of the Sunshine Kids, let me tell ya a little about ‘em! This non-profit organization is dedicated to children with cancer. They take kids all over North America to go do what kids are supposed to do, have fun! [Here’s a link to their website to learn even more: https://www.sunshinekids.org]

S I D E N O T E: Aside from Copper Creative, I do work a full-time, 40 hours a week job as a Graphic Designer {and hold a real estate license} for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group. {Yes, it’s a mouth full!} We as a company have been partnered with the Sunshine Kids for over 20 years!

The Clay Shoot Tournament, Aim for a Cure, took place this past Friday, March 30, 2018 at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays in Land O Lakes, Florida. ~ A quick much needed shout out to my partner in crime, Liv, for planning another fabulous event, Robb for assisting in the execution, and Valerie of Celebrate Everything Photography for the gorgeous photos of my work! ~ I donated this piece to the silent auction and the lucky winner to take home the prize was my coworker, Laura! {She's pictured below} I can’t wait to see a picture of it up on her wall, amongst all of her other prized photos and possessions.

Back to the creating board for this girl. Want your very own, custom made, home decor piece? Or maybe it’s for your upcoming wedding to keep and cherish forever? Let a girl know!

Cheers!
